Most people who sin don't think they are sinners. They get busy with the world around them and their own selfish lives and never think about it. Some sinners think their sins are washed away because they go to church once a week. Some think they aren't sinners because they don't steal or break man's laws. People get wrapped up with what they want, how they want it, where to get it, etc. Some care only about vengence and how to get the best of somebody else.
I guess the best answer would be...because they are ignorant. Ignorant of the sins they commit every day. Ignorant of how harmful sinning is to their souls and their relationship with God and Jesus.

I thought the Christian take on humans was that we were all sinners. That being the case, I'm sure you can answer your own question.

We are all sinners. If that were not true, we wouldn't need locks on our homes and cars or vaults in banks. Do you believe you are without sin or wrongdoing? Unlikely. How do you sleep?

because in my mind I haven't sinned. And if I feel I have done something wrong, I own up to it, fix it and go on with my life.
