yeah... BADBADBAD for your hair... what you need to do is just wash your hair with a shampoo that says it is for normal hair, unless you find one that says it is for oily hair, in which case use it, and you will just have to wash your hair every day. I went through a time in junior high school when my hair was super oily, and I did have to wash it every day, but I grew out of it by high school, and now I only have to wash it every other day. Also, when you wash, make sure you really lather the shampoo up, and use your fingers to work it into your roots really well, since that is where oil comes from. Good luck!

Also, someone above suggested Drama Clean, which is really good and will work really well for your hair type.

First of all stop using dish detergent and soap. That is the worst thing to use for your hair. The thing that helped me the most was making sure my shampoo and conditioner are compatible (Suave shampoo=Suave conditioner, Dove Shampoo=Dove conditioner, etc.) Also, make sure your hair is rinsed very well. If your hair has the least bit of soap or shampoo left in that will cause your hair to be oily too. Washing your hair daily also helps (some people can get by on washing their hair every other day, depending on how oily their hair gets.)

You need a product that breaks up oil. Try a shampoo made specifically for oily hair or another type of surfactant. Don't use shampoos with a high water base. (oil and water don't mix). What you need is something that breaks up oil. Actually a vinegar rinse (I know sounds gross, and won't leave your hair smelling nice) but it works.
Your hair actually needs natural oils and if you use dish soap, the alkaline base and the level of surfactants in it can strip your hair TOO much and take out too much oil, and then you'll have dry, cracked hair, with split ends on your hands, which will actually make your hair WORSE.
It's amazing how much chemistry actually DOES apply to everyday life. Interesting, huh?

Plain old everyday cooking oil will work just as good as any hot oil treatment and is a great way to rehydrate your hair. Take a couple of tablespoons of oil and work it through your hair paying special attention to the ends. If your hair is dry on the ends but greasy on top, skip the top and just massage it into the ends. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse out thoroughly. Your hair might feel a little greasy after this and you might want to experiment with the amount of oil until you get it just right.

Actually those products contain a high alkalinity and soap base, and this could actually worsen your condition. You need a shampoo for daily washing and do that every day. Then rinse with a vinegar rinse.

1/2 c. vinegar reg. or cider
1 1/2c. luke warm water

apply to hair, squeeze out excess. wait five minutes and rinse in luke warm to cool water. rinse to be done twice a week.

Only light conditioners.
