I have a nest on my drain pipe, that has been nested in the last two springs by Robins. Today I noticed not a Robin, but a Dove. I know they make diferent nest's, is it uncommon for a Dove to nest in a Robins nest? Just wondering

Most birds build their own nests....it is probably just a good, safe spot that the robins used last year and now a dove has built her nest there. Many owls will take over old hawk nests rather than build their own.

Doves normally make a very poor nest, just a few twigs stuck together. If the dove is nesting there, it is a good thing. The chicks will have a better chance of surviving. :) Enjoy the show!
