It is likely that she likes you as a friend, but is not in love with you. If she is in love with you she would want to marry you whether you started as her friend or not.
It sounds like you have a crush on her, but if it is marriage between two people who know each other, then both need to be in love and want the marriage.
Accept that your friend does not love you romantically, but still wants to be your friend. When you meet someone who loves you romantically, both will want to marry.

It sounds to me that she may be a little insecure and she thinks if you stay friends than your relationship will be alright. You have to reassure her that your friendship is why you want to marry her because a marriage that starts with friendship is a good basis for a strong and lasting marriage. She is scared and you have to prove to her that you love her.

Well, I would never marry anybody who WASN'T my friend.
Maybe she means she is not ready for a sexual relationship. Ask her if she would be willing to date you as a girlfriend, more than a friend. If she still says, "you are just a friend" then forget about ever being anything more.

You remain her friend and honor her decision which should prove your huge level of committment to her and in itself, may eventually lead her to come around. Otherwise, if you can't wait to find out just keep in mind that things happen for a reason and maybe she's refusing because "Life" has other plans for you which just may not be apparent at this particular moment. :-)

Persistence pays off! I married my childhood friend (since we were seven), but it wasn't until we were 23 until things because romantic. You must establish that you are different from the rest of the boys by being her friend first.

Take the hint that she isnt attracted to you. If she was you wouldnt be just friends. That is an easy way to tell you that she is not interested in you.

Try wooing her. Ask her out and see where it goes from there. She is probably nervous because she doesn't want to lose her friend.
OR... get over that chick and find someone else.
