I got in a arguement with my wife about 3 weeks ago and mps got called and i got charged with simple assualt.. But i have no court date and nothing else was said to me about it since. Its like it never happened.. I am still set to go to school and i am currently going through clearing and leaving for school. Is that going to affect me. Should i mention it to anyone or should i just keep quite?

If you are convicted of "Domestic Violence" of any type, Misdemeanor of Felony. You are forever forbidden to have any job requiring the possession of a firearm. This includes the Military.
You can still be in the military but cannot carry a side arm. This will rule out being an MP.

the only venture is that if to procure charged with the Lautenburg ammendment. This says that if a member of the army beats his substantial different that he can not carry a weapon. It does not sound like that got here approximately to you. i could pass with the aid of your NCO help channel and function somebody take you to the M.P. station and discern this out.

You might be able to get a waiver, but I am not sure. Since it happend such a short period of time ago, you might be out of luck. It is up to you if you want to keep it quiet or not.
