I am researching how to recycle and thought the internet would be the best place to start. Do you know of any websites that give the how-to's and guidelines of recycling - in general...

Thanks!

You don't state where you are coming from with this. As a concerned individual, a business, or researching a paper.
I would say that before recycling, consider the two more environmentally effective strategies of reduce and reuse.
Try Freecycle to pass on useful items, free, to other people - and to look for a few theings there yourself.

Canadians can join DeClutterize Canada!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/declutterizecanada

We endorse reducing, reusing and recycling, in small community run groups. We also have a national environmental discussion group, open to the public. The focus of this group is sustainable living, but all environmental concerns and topics are open for discussion. The aim is to show people how easy it is to make a difference to our environment, through patio gardening, composting, reducing electricity, using solar and wind power, planting trees, etc. A group for the public to discuss what they can, and DO, do. To teach one another how to accomplish more personally.

Hi,

Most of your local government (city/county) sites will have recycling pages specific to that area.

For more general information you can try:

www.earth911.org

They provide information for all around the country, international, etc. They have a lot of educational resources as well.

Hope this helps!
