My mom says it's bad for your hair, that you'll get lice etc. I think she's crazy.

1- Don't call your mom crazy. NEVER.

2-. It is unhealthy. I dont know about parasite, but I know it tends to weaken your hair. Also blow-dring your hair too often is unhealthy too.

Your mom probably says that you will get lice because studies show that lice don't like heat and blow drying your hair will keep the lice away better than not blow drying your hair. But, putting it up when it is wet doesn't increase your chances of lice more than keeping your hair down. Hope this helps!

Not that I'm aware of. I put mine up in a bun, but not tightly and then after awhile pull it down and let it air dry. The result is loose waves.

As far as getting lice, you get that from someone who already has it. By putting up your hair wet, you will not just get lice. Someone has to carry it for you to get it from them.
Hope this helps! :)

Not all that bad to be quiet honest drying and straightening constantly can cause more problems. As for lice they don't like clean hair the prefer 'dirty' hair eg - greasy. I shouldn't worry to much :-D

yes it's unhealthy. i don't know your race but African American gets weak when its wet and tends to break out more when it's pulled up especially if your using a rubber band it tugs the hair. oh and i really don't think u can get lice from a wet pony tail (never share your combs or brush) :)

I do it all the time and I have never gotten lice and my hair doesn't seem any less healthier. Actually it feels alot better then if I was to blow dry and to straighten it.

No, I'm pretty sure its not bad or anything, but if you have it up in the winter, your hair will dry slower and it is easier to get a cold and get sick. The best thing to do is either leave it down wet or blowdry it
