This is an easy one because anything you do will be just wonderful for him. He will love it. Turn the box upside down, so there is a roof, and cut holes for a couple of windows then a bigger one for a doorway, just don't cut it all the way on all four sides so he can open and close it. Even if the box is too short for him to stand up in he will still love it. Put in a flashlight for at night and some of his favorite things, cookies and a drink and he is all set. Good for you mom.

Come on all you need is a little imagination. Turn the box upside down cut holes for windows and doors, your son will probably be happy with that but if you want to be more elaborate, add some colour, or fabric for curtains, etc etc

This one is way more elaborate than it really needs to be, but here's a website. http://members.aol.com/skygazr888/plyhs.html
Also, if you need a good box, check with home improvement stores like Home Depot or Sears. Their merchandise often arrives in very large boxes that just get discarded. I'm sure you could get one for free.

Turn the box upside down and cut of the flaps. Then cut a "door" and "windows". If he is old enough paint it with him so he feels like it it his.

Realizing that is such a difficult task - I would choose something that isn't so difficult.
How about read to him or just give him the box just to play in.
