really bad info here.
You will go to BCT, most likely at Fort Sill, OK. You will do your AIT at 1-78 Field Artillery at Fort Sill. It will be roughly eight weeks of AIT where you will be taught the absolute basics of fire support.
You will learn out of the FM 3-09.30. Google it.
13F is a rough life, especially if you go to the light word (walking, not right around in a track.) You will live with your support manuever unit (infantry, armor, cavalry).
Prepare to carry a heavy load everywhere you go, as you will have your own radio and all the supporting equipment for it.
Have fun, it's a great job with quick promotions.

I just enlisted in the same MOS, and my brother has been doing it for 10 years in the 82nd airborne.
13F will be 9 weeks of training, then you go to like 6 weeks of AIT, then if you have airborne in your contract you will go to georgia and go to jump school for another 5 weeks I think it is. If you want airborne get it in your contract otherwise it might not happen.
You will be artillery but you will roll with the infantry 11b's, there job is to basicly bodyguard you and make sure you get your job done,a dn you only answer to the liutenant/captain. You will have a security detail of anywhere from 8-10 or 30 or more if its an entire company with you.
Its basicly just like 11b but with maps and a few other differences.
Edit: The only thing that sucks is that except for airborne school all your training is in Kansas, that armpit of the nation. But texas is only like 45 minutes away and your back in the real world. Good luck and thanks for not being a hippy like some [read as most] of the people on Yahoo Answers

the two my mothers and fathers have been enlisted. I later grew to alter into enlisted. looking lower back I prefer i could have carried out ROTC. The accountability is larger of an officer, even though it additionally has its reward. Enlisted deal extra with the palms on of issues, on an identical time as the officers are extra of the thinking and strategic stand area of it. the two decision although is a sturdy one, its a rely of whats actual for you, and no person else.

If you enlist in the Army, when you are 52 like me,with severe arthritis, still working but part time, and you go to the veterans hospital.Which treats you like crap, they perform surgeries that screw you up more, and your children get strep. You know that you will be treated like crap,so you get pig antibiotics, and cure yourself.
You will be like me,hating life, and the government.
