Very true, you cannot erase your footprint completely because you are an animal like all the rest of us animals.
However, there is a HUGE difference between this person #1:
I own a huge *** SUV, I travel all over the place in my huge SUV, burning gas and oil is my hobby. I like to burn tires in my backyard on the weekend, and on Sundays I donate money to coal burning power lobbyists before dumping a few gallons of motor oil into my local lake. I never recycle anything, I buy crap all the time and throw it away next week, I vote republican and Im Pro-war.
And this person #2:
Im a peace loving tree hugger, I love all life. I ride my bike whenever possible, I recycle everything possible, I buy as little as possible and then make it last as long as possible, I plant trees on the weekend, and on Sundays, I lay in my backyard and watch butterflies. I vote Green, or at least Democrat, Im anti-war.
Which person is more sustainable? Which has a smaller footprint?

I would say no. But there is a lot you can do. For one you can actually have trees planted to of set your carbon out put and you can choose to use less energy. But at the end of the day you have to realize you are part of nature too.

ONE way... Die--- to give back you will want to undergo a natural burial... but don't expect to enjoy the benefits of a zero impact life... I can at least look forward to the fact that my kids will have a nice place to visit when I am gone. Not some rock garden.

Nope. I'm a product of an agricultural civilization. Without an acre or so of planted crops, I'd starve.

No.
Even if you die the decomposition of your body will have negative environmental impact.
