I am on F-1 OPT, and my company is filing my H-1. on the application I signed and submitted 2 weeks ago, my status is single. However. I got legally married in california 3 days ago (my husband has an H-1 Visa too)- do I need to contact the lawyer and ask them to change my status on my application before they file? Please help!!

You would have to ask your lawyer if you need to change that information. Changes of your martial status might change your immigration process. However, at the time of filing application you were single. You might be asked to change that information later.

As long as you have your own status and is not becoming a dependent of another visa holder you need not report your marriage. Becoming married from single doesnt mean that your US visa status has changed as well. Your status changes when you move from one visa type to other

Not unless they are planning to change and go on an H-4. It will not matter unless one of you will be a dependent on the other person's visa. Since you both have primary visas (you're an F-1 now and will be an H-1 later and he's already an H-1), you don't need to do anything.
