You believe that God is one God, in 3 forms. As a Hindu, I believe that God is one God, and has many many forms. All the forms are just different manifestations of the same God.

I think you have to agree that either we are both monotheists, or we're both not. Am I wrong?

Yes, you are wrong.

:-)

NOT one god in three forms or "manifestations"!!! That is something called MODALISM, or "Sabellianism" and was condemned by the Christian Church in the second century.

We believe in One God, in three persons.

One in essence (Greek: "ousia") Three in Person ("hypostases" in Greek)

I have no idea how to answer this correctly, because I worked for a Hindu couple who explained their beliefs in such a way that I understood them to have various gods and goddesses who were in charge of different aspects of life. I've also heard you say there are no idols, but they had idols and called them idols. So I'm admittedly confused about what you believe.

As for my own beliefs, I have a mind, a body, and a spirit (or soul, if you will). I am not three people. Those three aspects of myself are interdependent.

I believe that is one way I am made in the likeness of God. I am three aspects of one person.

While I may have trouble coordinating the needs of my three "selves", God does not. God is perfectly unified: perfectly One.

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are interdependent, and though they are three aspects of the Godhead, they are One.

I agree 100%, and both are Not monotheistic religions... Christianity was suppose to be 1 God, just like Judaism, and Islam, with no partners, or no divisions.
God is One, The Eternal...

Christianity is not the real Christianity that came in the time of Jesus (Peace be upon him).
1 God/Allah that is monotheism.

Christians believe themselves to be monotheistic, despite the fact that they are not. The belief that there is one God with many manifestations is called monolatry. The ancient Kemetics (Egyptians) were monolatrous. True monotheists believe in one God with no other forms.

ahh i love when religions can agree with each other :-D
Hindu faith by itself is great...and Christian faith by itself is great...

Together, they're both beyond awesome!
So much more in common than people think!

I think there's an eastern saying...'neti neti' perhaps? anyway, it means "not this, not that".
It's comparable to a dancer and her dance...we understand them as two, when really they are one...the dancer is not the dance, but there is not one without the other...they are one, and not one.
With the trinity you might say there's the dancer (man), the dance (God) and the dancing (spirit)...all are one though all are unique.

all conflict seems to be the consequence of taking things out of context.

They are actually Pantheistic, not monotheistic. I think that you are monotheistic because you only believe in one, not three separate.

Their not monotheistic, you are actually more so then them

By definition Christians can not be montheistic as they do indeed have three gods. They say it is all one, but there are still three.

Yes. In my world religion class, I used this as an example and it works well.
