They doent have to sing the pledge, nor does it concer them that God is on our currancy. If I was crazy enough to be an atheist, i wouldn't care about what other people are doing or saying, that is the great thing about our country, we can do or say just about anything, so why does the majority have to sercumb to the minority, you do what you do and we do what we do. Right? Why do they care sooo much?

Listen im not try to be hypocritical, im far from it. Our government, in my opinion, is far from were i would like to see it going, we are slipping into a bunch of socialist tree huggers, but thats not the piont, politically and socailly things are not going my way, but you dont see my cring or starting protest of marches, leave me out of it and just answer the question straight up with no bias.

*Probably alot of spelling errors, im in a hurry.

One last thing, i did start this to spead hate and discontent, all im asking is why do atheists attack such trivial things that have a certian way for a long time. I know i dont study my dollar bill to see what is writen on it, and you are not required to sing the pledge, that is the great thing about this country, i you dont like it, ignore it. There're bigger fish to fry. Why cant people just leave things alone and if they dont like it, ignore it.

*Please excuse spelling errors

what do you mean? I guess I can always ask you back.... why do you stereotype and generalize the thinking that anyone falling into that category... is bringing down everyone else.

I am not an atheist, nor do I believe in God. The best way to describe/categorize my life is that I don't have a God component in my life.

I hate that you think that all of us who don't believe in YOUR 'God' do bring people down. I can just the same ask you, why do Christians like you have to bring me down? I was just cruising along merrily before I read your question and additional details. Reading it just about brought me down... like an arrow going through my heart. When you ask your question out of curiosity... it would have been nice for you to consider before stereotyping that not all of us are like that... just like I know that not all Christian bring me down... because I have some who do and some who don't.

Just the idea of stereotyping... that is enough to bring anyone down, Christian or non.

Personally, I (not believing in God) don't really care about what you do or what you say.... The great thing about our country IS that we can do or say just about anything. The drawback though is that people end up stereotyping others... just as you have done. And that problem/issue, I DO care about. You don't have to be a Christian to know that stereotyping is wrong. It's just common sense.

You ask "why does the majority have to sercumb to the minority, you do what you do and we do what we do"...

Yeah, I wonder... why is that? Why do we as a nation have to succumb to what 'one' President, a Christian president... mind you... wanted to do.... says and believes that there are WMD's... and drags all of us into this pointless war. In the name of God like the jihad? I didn't want this war... and neither did a lot of other people.... yet the majority had to succumb to the minority.... because of a big mouth and big brain....

Just turn on the TV.... and Bush this and Bush that... why does a Christian president have to bring down everyone else...? I think that's a better question that you should be asking...

The problem is that, in this country, there is a supposed to be "seperation of church and state" Well, it isnt seperate if God is on government issued money. If God is in a pledge of alleigence to our country. Really all we want is what the goernment says that they are goiong to do. Seperate church and government.
Why does God have to on our money? Why does God have to be in the pledge? Whats the purpose? Other than the religios trying to do whatever they can to get a foothold in the goverment.
Once that happens, it like cockroaches, it will be there forever, it disgusts a lot of non religiouspeople and other religions, and you will never get rid of them all. There are always some hiding in the dark, waiting to come out, when the time is right.
Why should my kids have to stand up in school and recite the pledge and state something they they may or may not agree with? As you said, they have a right to do what they want.
What about other religions? Why should they have to put up with God being in the goverment. especially when its not their God that the government is condoning?
Get real, religion is nothing but a tool to get the masses to do what the minorites want them to do.

Because some of them are very Negative, they don't see certain things in the same light that some of us do. Some are taught certain things from when they were little from their parents so that greatly affects their Spirituality. I can be a Negative person too but I was lead to my place of Spirituality b/c this is where I needed to be and who I am as a person. We are all different! Do we not still love our close friends and family though some have completely different viewpoints than us? They would "Argue" how we are ignorant and don't know anything, how in turn they are just as ignorant b/c they don't notice certain things in life that would help them so much more if they would only see what the Spirit World, God and his Angels had to offer. I say let them believe what they want, I am going to go where I want b/c of what I believe, know, and stand for. They in the same sense,in their own mind will go to where they want b/c of what they believe to know what is logical and right.

You pose an interesting question...why do we care so much about what someone else is doing/thinking. Well, Id hate to point out the obvious - but why do YOU concern yourself with what we are doing then? This is a completely hypocritical question - atheists cant bother themselves with what others are up to, but Christians can?? Think about that for a while, okay?

Then, after youre done contemplating your question, ask yourself how you would feel if Muslims were attempting to legislate their religion into the laws that would eventually affect YOU. Would you sit by idly and watch and allow it to occur? Of course you wouldnt - but thats exactly what Christians are doing in this country and for some reason you have a problem with me defending myself against that?

> If I was crazy enough to be an atheist, i wouldn't care

Yes, you would. You would care if Muslims were in the majority in this country and used that majority to force their religious beliefs upon you. You would care if they imprinted "In Allah We Trust" on currency and inserted "One Nation Under Allah" into the patriotic pledge, seeming not to care that not every American worships Allah. You would care if a non-Muslim could not run for public office in some states or everyone was in an uproar because you had the audacity to want to use the Bible (gasp!) instead of the Qur'an for swearing oaths. You would care if Muslims were insistent that what your daughter is taught in public school must reflect "traditional Islamic values." You would care.

You just don't care now because your particular group is in the majority. That may not always be the case, though.

I think it is the other way around, christians are always preaching to everyone else about what religion is right, and anyone who doesn't think that way is automatically doomed to "hell." They push their beliefs onto other people, and I have not once seen an atheist go door knocking with leaflets asking if you would be interested in finding out the secret of a god that does not exist.

Then again, why does anyone care about another person's beliefs, when they should just be happy with what they believe?

Atheists fear Christians. The USA was founded on Christian principles allowing all people to worship as they please or not at all. Maybe they would be happier in a Muslim country or Hindu or Buddhists? As far as I know, here in our country, the majority still rules. In this case, Christians are the majority here in the states. Don't know of a country whose laws are founded by atheists. That would be an interesting thing to see.

ps -- why can't we just all get along?

you say "i wouldn't care about what other people are doing or saying" but since you're not atheist, you do? why do you feel the need to try & rally people around you against the atheists?

and actually, the pledge of allegiance was changed and many kids can get in trouble for not saying it (i did). and keep god on the money, i think that's hilarious!

the greatest thing about our contry is that the MINORITY doesn't (usually) have to succumb to the MAJORITY.

I have tried to stay away from this site because SOME of them are so mean and cruel!SOME of them group us all the same!So I try not to be as much of a bigot as SOME of them are. But I can't help myself I look for the one good question.....
some days I just sit and cry at SOME of the hate filled remarks made here. I wish I knew the real truth about why they care about what we believe or think. No lies about how we ALL PUSH OUR BELIEFS ON THEM! We don't. If someone would have a bible question I have my bibles next to my computer ready to give reference's to where to find the answer I have given. Not all atheist are hate filled and rude and I do not hate them.

look your unlikely to get severe solutions from Atheist so right this is my answer. for my section i'm a Christian. I save all the training of the Bible and indisputably does not commerce it for the international. the explanation why lots of Atheist advance into so is via the fact faith in God to them isn't something yet a blur and inadequate issues to have self belief in. yet I say in any different case. The God of the Bible of course states he's acquainted with why and how the international will bypass into organic demographic hell with the aid of fact of folk's concept in no writer. Atheist have this innovations-set wherein despite they do it particularly is on their on will and that no bigger power can and or administration or have life over them -- then who enable you think of for your self? that is glaring that God enable's people who chosen to not have self belief - to not have self belief! haha. Whichever course human beings take it particularly is a plan that God has already sought out. The so stated as "Christians" who declare themselves to be divine at the instant are not something yet a non believer with a church provider each Sunday. God states that some are destined for hell some for heaven, yet no person of course is acquainted with in view that God works as his own and in the time of his son we've a greater effective information. Atheist have there own innovations us Theists have ours yet verily we are particularly led via the gentle of God.
