i have gone to 5 shows on Broadway. I guess you could say that it all depends on the show. if you're going to see a show like les meserables, prolly a good idea to dress up, everyone else will be. However, if you're going to the lion king or high fidelity, you would look quite odd dressing up. don't fret if you do make a small fashion mess up because the majority of the time you're sitting in a dark theater while everyone is looking everywhere except for at you. have fun, New York City is amazing.

You can go however you want. I live near there, and once spent an entire day walking around the city in the pouring rain...my jeans were soaked, as were my sneakers, and I was wearing a regular shirt, and still was allowed in to an evening performance of Sweet Charity...trust me, it was no big deal, you can dress however you want, nice is better, but jeans and a t-shirt are fine.

well theres not an actual "dress code" but most of the people there are going to be dressed some what nice so i'd suggest not something to fancy but just something that looks better than casual :) try avoiding sneakers, caps, and cotton t-shirts.

no, no, no. you can go any way you want. just don't look sloppy, and looking "fly" is sloppy in educated form. don't talk during the performance, and be polite when being seated, and if you converse during intermission make sure you have been watching the performance. It's in the middle of the summer and people are not going to be waring blazers and over coats.

The more expensive the ticket, the nicer they would like you to dress...
Besides, if you are going to Broadway, go all the way...

I wouldn't recommend it. Business casual is the most casual I'd go. It won't kill you to put on a decent pair of pants and a shirt.

You don't have to dress up but afternoon shows tend to be casual than night shows
