i want to move to england....how can i find a job from over, or do i have to travel there first ?

Assuming you are an American citizen with no family ties in UK you won't be able to come here to stay permanently and get a job. You must apply for a Work Permit Visa first - which must be applied for on your behalf by your prospective employer. You can't come to UK, get a job and then apply for a Work Permit. Contact the nearest British Consulate to where you live in USA - they'll give you more information.

Sometimes if you know what employer you want to work for, you can go to their website and if they have available jobs overseas you will be able to search for those jobs in the employers career search engine.
But If you go to monster.com or careerbuilder.com you can search for jobs overseas also.

type in your browser jobcentreplus uk, it will give you a wide variety to search through, its the uk goverment site.
