So me and my girlfriend live in a duplex, and she lives on one side and I live on the other side, and well we decided to move in together so we tore down the wall. wWhen the property manager found out, she threatened to evict both of us. Now we have 48 hours to rebuild the walls that seperated the two houses, and I'm suppose to go on a business trip and my girlfriend is pregnant. We don't have any money, and I can't take out a loan cuase I'm so in debt. I haven't told her yet, cause she was at work when the propery managercame by. What should I do? I can't tell my girlfrined that will stress her into premature labor, and I can't hire any one. HELP!!

First of all when you live in a common property dwelling you need permission to do ANY renovating . My suggestion would be to talk to the property manager. You will have to rebuild the wall and either move in together or find a new home.

Talk to your girlfriend, try and figure out what you would need to do to fix the wall and the time line you would realistically need to do it....... Keeping in mind it will need to be done soon. Take this plan to the manager. 48 hours is not a fair amount of time to do any construction properly.

If finances are the main problem, again talk to the property manager...... maybe you can work off the debt by doing odd jobs. We learn by our mistakes and sometimes it costs us. Good Luck!

All I can say is wow, how stupid can you be??? How did you ever think that it would be ok to tear a wall in a place that you don't own? It is a good thing that the kid isn't yours, now at least it doesn't have two completely stupid parents. I can't give you any advice because there is no good advice to give you, except maybe you should never reproduce and save our population from idiots like you.

Do you have any guy friends that can do it for you? Tell them you'll owe them a favor back, or you'll pay them what you can. Or try talking to the manager and let them know, you'll have it done as soon as you get back from the trip. And be very nice about it, let them know how sorry you are about it, and you wouldn't have done it if you knew they would have had a problem with it.
