someone who ultimately lost the run in with the demons.... They couldn't get you head on apparently, so they decided to fool you. Hopefully you'll defeat them someday.

From wiki:
--------------------------
In Unix and other computer multitasking operating systems, a daemon (IPA pronunciation: /'deɪmÉn/ or /'dimÉn/[1]) is a computer program that runs in the background, rather than under the direct control of a user; they are usually initiated as processes. Typically daemons have names that end with the letter "d"; for example, syslogd is the daemon that handles the system log.
Daemons typically do not have any existing parent process, but reside directly under init in the process hierarchy (PPID=1). Daemons usually become daemons by forking a child process and then having the parent process immediately exit, thus causing init to adopt the child. This is a somewhat simplified view of things, naturally, as other operations are generally performed (such as disassociating the daemon process from any controlling tty), convenience routines such as daemon(3) existing in some UNIX systems for that purpose.
-------------------
System Administrators are not God(s) though.

What do you mean by demons? Do they think they SAW a demon? Is the word "demon" symbolic for something like alcoholism? I'd need to know a little more before I could really answer, but I know this:
There are no "demons". Evil is not an outside force. If he thought he "saw" something, then he might be mentally ill and needs help. If "demons" means bad things in his life, then he needs to stop blaming demons for his problems and take responsibility for his own life. Blaming an outside force for your problems or mistakes is just passing the buck, and won't help anyone improve their life.

I'd say demons since devils and daemons don't make any sense at all.

So if you ran into something bad, how would that prove God's existence?
It's possible that only evil exists as outside entities, while good is within humans.
Don't assume anything about the supernatural based on one encounter. It doesn't prove anything else!

"Afraid of the truth"... Normally the bible says to have no fear when witnessing, but when spirits come into play, the bible says to run like a scared little kitten. And when it comes to deamons, the only think that can stand up to them is God himself. So the only advice I can give is to pray../
