I saw this extra sexy dress that I desparately wanted to wear. I bought it, hung it in my kitchen next to the junk food. Whenever I wanted junk food I saw the dress.

I was sitting on the couch after a doctors appointment crying about how much I weighed. I was having health problems, looked like crap in pictures and man did my ankles and knees hurt when I got up in the morning. I also took a look at my sleeping kids and realized that I was a bad influence on them due to my lack of motivation. So, I decided to do something about it. The bad thing is the decision was right before the holidays. It has been a hard task to accomplish but well worth it. I have dropped like 60 pounds in 5 months from heating a lot better and exercising. I have a little more to go but will keep at it.

Good luck!

when i felt like crap in a bathingsuit always... and i knew it wouldn't ever get better unless i really made an effort to change. a diet pill won't do anything i if i still eat like crap and never exercise... so i started eating better. i watched what i ate, i would eat lean cuisines for lunch, special k for breakfast and usually more special k or subway for dinner...
i started exercising 3 days a week and then 4 or 5 days for at least 30 minutes a day.
its been 2 months and ive lost 10 pounds and i've managed to keep it off. i havent lost anymore because i started getting lazy again. i started eating worse and exercising less however i still have not gained any of the weight back. i'm back on the diet and exercise routine though so hopefully i get back down into the 120's. ive been at 140 for the past 4 years and i'm finally down to 133.
once you decide to do it, it will happen. something will click inside of you

I knew I had to lose weight when my 3 year old sister asked me why she didnt have 2 chins like me. I joined weight watchers and lost a ton of weight. I got dumb and thought I could do it on my own so I stopped going and gained all the weight back. I am going back to weight watchers tomorrow with a group of my friends. i would suggest weight watchers to anyone and everyone.

#1 I saw Jack Lalane on tv. He was 93 and I had no doubt he could kick my butt. I felt embarrased by my condition.
#2 An hour later I saw another show where they took 6 people who weren't really fat, just a little over weight, had them each lose just about 20-30 lbs. through diet and moderate exercise. They all had health problems like high blood preasure and early diabeities and were taking medication. At the end of the 2 months they all had normal blood preasure and their blood sugar had returned to normal etc. Their doctors took them all off all their medications. It was amazing.
#3 I continued to be a couch potato untill the wee hours when I saw a university lecture on the satelite where they were handeling chunks of arterys (Yuck. I didn't know those things were so big) from "healthy people" and "moderately over weight" people. The ones from the fat guys were full of these big flat chunks of fat, and when they twisted them it sort of stuck out and cracked like fish scales on the inside. (double yuck)
#4 The next day my wife and I got into some serious "opening up" disscussions durring which she admited to me that she was unhappy with our sex life and infatuated with a guy half her age, who was "so cute" and she just "couldn't stop thinking about him" ...and he was also attracted to her. Nothing happened, glad she talked to me about it, but still, it was a shock.

In the months that followed, my wife and I have had good times and rough times working thru things, but I've taken my health and looks very seriously. It's not just diet and exercise, it's how I look, how I dress, everything good for me. To motivate myself I use different tactics for different moods. For example;

When I'm up I motivate myself by looking in the mirror, weighing myself and things like that, basically enjoying the progress I've made.

When I'm down I exercise to pump up my mood.

When things are going well with my relationship I motivate myself by thinking about my sexual prowess or the night ahead.

When I'm mad at her or anyone else, I use that anger or frustration to push me. (I take it out on the weights)

In short I've convinced myself that whatever the situation, improving my health is a good response. Use anything to motivate you that you can think of. Start looking for chances to play, like running around with your dog or shooting a few hoops.

Also remember that it's a long term thing, a change in lifestyle, not something you have to do for a while. So you must change the way you think of yourself. Don't think of yourself as a fat person who has to lose weight. Think of yourself as an athletic person who has slipped out of shape. Also, since it's a perminant life style change, don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up once in a while. Just get up the next day and get back to the healthy you. Learn to think of yourself as a healthy person and enjoy being a healthy person. It's not a prison of can'ts, it's a new better healthier happier life!

I've lost about 30 lbs and I'm in as good a shape as I was 25 years ago, and it feels great!

Enjoy
