Stand up if that's what they do there, smile if you want and say hello. That's it. Be yourself.

Just stand and smile. There will more than likely be others visiting as well. If they don't formally ask you to stand or if they just announce a visitors presence from the pulpit you can also stay sitting and slightly raise your hand so the congregation would know who you are. It's not really a big deal if you know someone who's going. Most people there would probably know that person too. Just have a good time learning about the gospel and don't think too much about the little things. Besides, even if you don't beleive what theyre saying, church is fun, especially on Easter! (= Hope I helped!

In my church, when we see a 'new face' someone will be sure to introduce themselves before the service. Then when it is time to 'introduce' any visitors, the church memeber will tell your name and where you are from. All you have to do is stand and acknowledge those around you. You don't have to actually say anything unless you want to. Sometimes is "We're/I'm happy to worship here with you today" or something along those lines. Ask your friend what is usually done during the visitors spotlight, they can tell you what is expected.

Usually they request you stand so everyone knows who you are, so after services the members can say hello and welcome you to their church. Usually all you have to do is briefly stand and smile, give a nod. You probably don't have to say anything. If so, then they will usually give you some direction as of what to do. I have never been to a church that made you say anything in visitor's spotlight though, just stand, smile, and nod. Way to go for trying out a new experience! Hope you have a happy easter!

It depends on the church. Some churches want the visitor to stand and say a few words..and say whatever you feel comfortable with.
Other churches will say "lets greet our visitors" which just means everybody will go around and introduce themselves to the visitor. It's a good way to meet people, but it's mostly to make you feel comfortable.

what Denomination? Church of God in Christ say: I'd like to thank the lord for being here, saved, sanctified and clothed in my right mind.....{they Really DO}
The Presbyterians just ask the visitors to stand or raise their hand and then they hand you a visitor's form to complete and drop in the offering basket
The evangelical/pentacostal churches are so large now, they don't have visitors stand and say anything, they too will pass out a visitor's card after asking you to stand or raise your hand...
Sometimes the Baptist will ask you to stand and they will give you a greeting and if there are only a FEW visitors, they'll ask you to bring a word of greeting...but generally, that's only if you're a Special Guest/Visiting Minister or Pastor---don't worry about it...you can always just say "Hello, I'm so-n-so, from such-n-such thank you for making me feel welcome" {I was a church musician and have been in lots of different services with a variety of congregations...it's just basic church service 101....nothing to fear} Enjoy!

We don't have a visitor's spotlight at my church but I would just smile and say "hi." At least they are not asking for your testimonial or something.

Each church is different. They could ask you to stand or shake hands with people around you. You will just to wait and see what happens.

Relax, and say something from your heart. if you aren't comfortable in a church, tell them that. If you like the church, tell them that. tell them what's in YOUR heart, not necessarily what you think they want to hear. Just don't be disrespectful. Be yourself and be real. that's what they really want. and don't worry about it.
