No you can't stop it. Your body is shedding the outer dead layer of skin. The body normally does this anyway, but the skin is damaged so it sheds more than usual.

To lessen the itching and make it look better apply aloe vera gel and make sure to stay out of the sun in the future. Wear SPF! Especially while it heals.

Keep it real moisturized. And limit your time in the sun. If your are peeling then you burned and that is very aging to you skin no matter what your age. I tan all summer but only about 15 minutes a day and i get really good color that doesn't fade fast.

oooh my god, it is the worse thing that ever happened to me. Apply lotion as much as you can. When my skin was peeling I had the bottle of lotion with me everywhere I go. I apply it in the car, at the restaurant, in the mall, at home of course. I apply it every 5 to 10 min (whenever the previous lotion get absorbed in the skin). And hopefully in 3 to 4 days it will get better. And next time apply after sun directly after getting burned so you don’t have to face this kind to problem. And of course its better not to get burned at all at the first place. Good luck

once it starts, its hard to stop but your skin is dry and you have to put moisture back in it to get it to stop. when my face peels i go to walmart and purchase pond's moisturizing cream (its in a white jar-like container with a blue lid). the difference in using it just once is like day and night. my cousin's face started peeling two days before her wedding and she used the same stuff and it stopped by her wedding day.

Put on baby oil. That's what my friends do. I never get sunburns, because I'm naturally dark!

Aloe vera -- it will help heel your skin even if it has already begun peeling.

No, not really- but apply lots of aloe gel or lotion to sooth the skin so it does not look too bad.
