I'm not sure where my hair is classified; thin, medium, or thick? How do you tell?

I mean how MUCH hair the person has, not how thick the individual strands are.

you can judge thickness by comparing the thickness of your hair when you put it in a ponytail.

you'll hear people commenting like oh, u have such thick hair... when you look at those people's hair when it's a ponytail, and then compare it to yours, well, then you'll have a better idea

i would say that if you thick hair you could encircle your ponytail w/ your index finger and your thumb but i have tiny hands and a club thumb so i don' tthink that it would work

but if you start paying attention to how large in diameter someone's hair is in a ponytail, you'll be able to judge for yourself

The actual hair strands themselves can be either or. If you take a piece of hair a feel it, it can feel thick like straw, or fine like thread even thinner than that......But you can also be talking about how Much hair a person has...Example: I have fine hair but I have a lot of it...some people might call it thick because there is so much...So it really just depends on what you are talking about.

Well, it depends on how much hair you have... for instance I have baby fine hair, but I have a lot of it, so therefore I have very thick hair.

You can just look at your hair by how much volume there is, if your hair seems flat, it's thin; if it has a lot of volume (without any work or product), it's thick; and if it's in between the two it's medium.

If you're still not sure ask your stylist the next time you get your done.

Well the thickness can refer to 2 things: a) how "thick" each strand is, or b) how much hair you have. People typically use these interchangably. Thick hair you can easily recognize... lots of it, usually thick strands. Fine hair is wispy, not much of it... medium hair is somewhere in between. Grab your ponytail and is there a lot of it? Does it feel substantial? Most people have medium hair I think, not a huge amount of it, but enough to gather into a fairly thick ponytail.

I heard that you could use a piece of thread and compare it to a strand of your hair. If your strand is thicker than the thread then you have thick hair, if it's the same size you have medium, if its thinner then you have thin hair.
