About two years ago, I met a man online. We talked online, on the phone and he wrote me the most romantic letters I girl could want. We talked every night till the early hours of the morning. But after a while the distance between us started to get to us. and we mutually decided that it might be better to see other people. Since then we still talk sometimes, but I still love him so much it kills me that I can't be near him. Recently I've met someone, and we've been living together for about 6 months. I love my boyfriend very much, and would marry him as soon as he'd ask. But recently I drempt of him, and since then I can't get him out of my mind. I know he still loves me, and I still love him, I was thinking of writing him, nothing major, Just to catch up. I'm afraid if I do, it'll only tease me. But If I don't i'll never get him out of my head. My BF dosn't know anything about it, and I wouldn't dream of ever cheating on him.

I have no intentions of meeting him to start anything up. he lives about 3000 miles away.

Also I have no intentions of leaving my BF. I love him much too much to do so.

Don't write him. That "relationship" was based on fantasy. The reality of living with someone or even dating someone in person is way different. Stick with the man you are with.

I know EXACTLY what you are going through . . . because I was there, and I went for it - even flew out to meet her. BIG MISTAKE!!! Learned that she was a fantasy - not who or what she made me think she was, not interested in leaving her current relationship, not interested in a new relationship with me. I was an intruder - an interloper - in her life; she had already written me off. When I got home the house was empty - my current gf learned what I was doing and split.

Soooo . . . I blew a wad of cash for worse than nothing, made a complete fool of myself, destroyed my current relationship with a wonderful woman, and I was left with nothing. It took a year of therapy to get over the devastation of what I had done.

E-mail (you need it in writing for a reason) your old internet flame one last time and tell him your current situation - and that you have decided to move on. Make it obvious that it is NOT a conversation: you are TELLING him. Your current life is your priority, and in fairness to your man, you must say goodbye for the last time. Do NOT take NO for an answer; tell him that if he refuses to respect your wishes, you will request a restraining order be served to him.

Erase all information about him from your PC, block his e-mails, IM's, and phone calls. destroy anything that reminds you of him, do everything in your power to wipe him from your mind. If you hear from him again, take a copy of that last e-mail to the county courthouse and make good your threat of a restraining order.

Last but not least, AFTER you clean everything out of your PC AND your life, let your bf know that you had had an internet relationship in the past, but it never amounted to anything, you never even met him, you had already decided to erase him from your life, and now that you have your true love here in your home and your arms you want to concentrate ONLY on your one-and-only.

To do anything else would be to permit a fantasy to destroy your life. BTDT - it's NEVER worth it. The grass is NOT greener on the other side of the monitor!

You should just leave it alone. Cause you might be tempted to meet up with this other guy.
