i am in the exact same position, but I have good pecs and abs. Eating right and working out will help you in the long run, but you need to make sure you are doing ab exercises, and for pecs do the benchpress. Before any change will happen, you need to get rid of the fat. The best way to do this is by actually exercising instead of just working out. Running is a good exercise, playing sports and other things like that. If you continue eating right, working out your body, and losing that fat. You will replace your fat with nice toned chest and abs. You want to work out your muscle not your fat, thats a good tip right there

Get a physical job. And do it well and with great enthusiasm.

Not only will you gain in TRUE physical strength - as opposed to those wussie metrosexuals at the gym - you'll develop a work ethic that will stand with your for the rest of your life.

yeah, i would say, your off to a great start!...determination and patience is the key...i used to be 5'9" and 200 pounds...now i am 6' and a defined 170...started off at your age....what you should do..is work on muscle growth, and a lil cardio here and there...when you are 18 or 19 spend one summer going cardio crazy...running a minimum of an hour a day...lifting light wieghts for thousands of reps...and you will see the flab fall off and nothing but vieny muscle underneath....

good luck

you might want to start eating a lot and consume protein rich foods and workout with heavy weights doing low reps for 8 weeks, after you gain couple of pounds of muscle then you can start your cardio workout and eat healthy doing lighter weights but higher reps to burn fat and get toned and always drink lots of water

To get larger, you might want to lift heavier weights...but few repititions. Pick up your protein intake. Sometimes you just have to wait until you are a little older and your metabolism slows down. Make sure you dont get involved with steroids, okay....they can kill you.

The resistive exercises will tone up your muscles. That is working with weights. Push ups also helps

Get plenty of fiber into your diet. It speeds up metabolism. So do Vitamin B's. Run a lot, and do plenty of calisthenic work outs. Carbs give you energy. You need energy to work out. You need to work out if you want to burn fat.

my husband does a lot of weight training. Lots and lots of it. And eats a lot of clean healthy protein. Protein shakes, lean meat, etc...... You can buy protein mixes at most stores.
