It's worth knowing that one theory about depression is that people who are really intelligent get depressed more easily than others, because they see how life really is. The rest of us are fooling ourselves. So the way to manage your insight is to talk to others - people who are able to listen and understand, not people who tell you what to do or think. Exercise DOES help - when you're feeling depressed it's hard to get out and go for a walk, but if you can push yourself, a half hour walk every day would really make a difference. I don't mean a gentle stroll or amble, I mean really walking briskly, getting your heart and breathing rate up, and looking around and noticing the world. Good counselling or psychotherapy can be helpful. If your depression is a result of something that's happened recently, it is particularly good to find someone non-judgemental who you can talk to (whether a friend, relative or counsellor/psychotherapist - often someone professional, outside your normal life, gives you a better chance of just talking honestly because you don't have to worry about how they feel....).

Do you have anyone you can talk to? A relative or a trusted friend? A teacher, someone you look up to? If you do, please go talk to them about what you are feeling. You should also call your local Mental Health Agency. They can help you the most.

Hm... I've been through this too!
Okay... what has been totally WRONG in your life? Fix it.
Someone making you feel bad? Talk to them.
Listen to music, draw for a while, relax ofr 'bout ten minutes, let go of your stressful feelings....

what is that drives you to be depressed? Dont let the expectations of the world make you feel inadequate! Its a sad state of affairs that we live in a world that tells us what we have to do and how we have to behave. forget what it is telling you! One of my closest friends suffered from depression for years, it was only until she turned to Christianity that she came out of her state of being!?

hi i suffered with depression last year and tryed to kill myself twice. i went to counseling and they told me that talking to yourself helps or writing your problems on a piece of paper then ripping them up after. its not good talking to people that tell you what to do you just need some one to sit down and listen to your problems. its good to talk. good luck.
