I would say that as long as he can hear you then his hearing is fine. I also have a VERY loud two year old who can hear me, when he wants to. :)

Generally young children are screened for hearing problems during routine doctor's visits, but it would certainly be important to check with his pediatrician on your next visit to make sure they have done the hearing test. If you have no other indication that he can't hear things properly, he's probably just fine - two-year-olds are testing the limits of every sense and don't know anything about why you need to speak in a lower voice!

A lot of toddlers talk really loud because they like they way they sound or want to be heard above everyone else. I would have his hearing checked out anyways just to be sure.

My 2 1/2 year old does the same thing. She also never stops talking. We recently went on an 8 hour car trip form ga to nc and she slept for one hour and talked non stop the rest of the way.....about nothing at all!!!!!

as long as your child can follow your simple instructions without you talking back loud like asking him/her to point where his nose is or to get the ball it means he /she can hear you

I think it would be good to have your son's hearing checked. Then you won't have to worry about this.

best wishes!

It's normal, it's an attetnion getter YOU have to teach the child to use an "indoor voice".
