Did you buy a ticket? If not, you didn't win. There's no such thing as an email-address lottery, or being entered into contests without your knowledge.

A good place to start is: Did you buy a ticket? If not, you definitely didn't win.

A random e-mail saying you won is absolutely a scam. It's either an advance fee scam or a phishing scam. Either way, it ends badly for you. Avoid.
