I don't like planes, never have probably never will. Are there any ships or anything just for passage. OIr would I have to go to a cruise line? If so what are the rates?

Well you can cross the Atlantic the luxurious and expensive way by cruise liner - probably the only line doing this now is Cunard with the QE2 and the Queen Mary 2.

But cargo ships take passengers too. It is worth trying these as they are cheaper.

You could sail. There are some freight ships that take a small number of passengers. Its much cheaper than cruise ships because you don't get the entertainment amenities, of course.

The QM2 sails to England, but I'm sure it's very expensive. I'm sure there are other cruise lines with lower rates. I know you don't like to fly, but I have to say that Virgin Atlantic is a great airline for travelling overseas!

You can go by boat, but I know that when my grandparents went in 1957, it took 6 weeks.
