2-marrow I am getting braces! i need to know what do they have to do? does it hurt?

Im getting braces tomarrow and need to know if they hurt.
what do they do?
What is the mold?
does it taste bad?
how do they put in the actual braces?

Mine hurt, my mouth was kinda sore and the wires irritated me. Ask if you can get wax, that's what they gave me to pad the wires.
They make a tray of this gooey stuff and you bite into it, it hardens in the tray and they have a model of your mouth. It's not too bad, totally do-able. You will be fine and feel free to ask the orthodontist and his assistants questions. I am sure they are used to all sorts of questions and anxiety about braces.

they make the mould before the braces and they take a while so you may not get them fitted tommorrow.
the mould is done by some blue plasticine being put in your mouth and you bite on it, not the most comfortable thing but not painful! they then use the blue stuff to make a model of your teeth, its cool!
the braces take a while to fit but its not painful, you may get a little toothache afterwards, i did but some people dont, then you keep going back for tightenings which might also pain you for a couple of days but its not too bad.
the best is when all the work is over, they take them off and polish your teeth, they feel so perfect and smooth.

They mix this plastic plastery stuff up for the mold. The mold just feels like you have too much food in your mouth. It's pretty much tasteless.
they'll probably put in the spacers and the holders. Depending whether they hurt or not relaly depends on the orthodontist. But I can say it feels like someone is wrestling with your mouth.

the mold is this squishy stuff that hardens quickly. they measure ur mouth (to no which tray to use), put a bunch of it on a tray, put it in ur mouth and hold it there for like 3 minutes i think. it doesnt have a taste but it is really squishy and they put an EXCESSIVE amount in ur mouth so its really disgusting and it could make u gag and they usually give u like a bag and clip it on ur shirt in case u drool or something.
it doesnt hurt wen ur getting them on but after u get them on im not gonna lie it hurts like hell. u cant really eat wen i got them i kinda mashed soft foods with the roof of my mouth cuz it hurt so bad.. ya.
