what part of the back seat? The lower part can be tricky as well. On the very lower edge of the seat you need to push it back and then lift up at the same time. The seat is retained buy 2 "U" channel clips. one on each side about 6" from the door sill and about 3" back from the seat edge. It may take two people to do this. One on each side and maybe a small pry bar. I have used the cars tire iron to assist. If its a leather seat my my sons mystique then I would put a cloth around anything you use to pry with as to not damage the leather. Once the lower part is out you can unbolt the back, unless of course its a folding rear seat. The bolts are exposed once removed you grasp the seat back on both sides and raise straight up as to un hook from the top clips. The Mystique is scotch garded from the factory. We have a rug doctor type of machine we use on spills like that. We do not remove the seat to clean it. You can rent one at many supermarkets, Uhaul company centers as well has home centers like Home Depot or Lowes

Remove the bottom part first with a flat head screwdriver pushing the 2 snaps to lift up the lower part, remove it, then remove the upper part.

open your trunk, look at the back of the seat for a bolt combination holding it into position, if that doesnt work, invest a haynes manual, or a chiltons manual, it will show you exactly how to do it, plus everything else to do on your car...good luck
