Gee some people need to relax some, it was just a question. I just want to comment that you can't win either way. If you recognize that someone is different-they get mad. If you pretend not to recognize the difference-they get mad lol.

Are they called Scottish-Canadians? Because here we have to call people African-American, and Mexican-American, etc. when they are American but came from another country. That is so dumb. Why aren't they just called Amercians like everyone else? We aren't supposed to treat them differently, but we have to call them a different name? But we are all the same! Make up your mind already! That's all I ask. But you just can't please everyone.

Sorry, I just wanted to point that out in regards to the comments above about if they are Canadian they are Canadian. That's what you would think, huh? But here we have like 10 different types of Americans lol.

No... that's absurd. No parts of Canada have people with Sottish accents (except for a few people actually from Scotland). I'm Scottish-Canadian myself, my father was born in Aberdeen, but you would not know it from hearing me.

There are parts of Canada, like Newfoundland or Cape Breton, that were colonised by lots scottish settlers. However, their accents are as similar to Scottish as a southern Louisianian accent is similar to somebody from France.

what is difference between Scottish and Canadians. This is a land for immigrants. Some came 200 years ago and some 2 months ago. As long as you have a Canadian citizenship you are a Canadian. No matter when did you come here.

Did you know that the Scots were the ones who settled places like Nova Scotia? Could be a lot of tourists go to Canada after researching their family history.
