Voltaire sounded pretty certain of himself when he spoke about the unpleasantness of doubt and the absurdity of certainty.

Have you read about Voltaire's experience at death? This great proponent of the "God is a myth" theory screamed his way into eternity. We all know that God exists, our consciences bear witness of the fact. Before you reach death's door, I hope you consider whom you will meet on the other side.

No, there are things that we can be sure of, and although they may seem or feel absurd it is the best result.

One thing that is for sure is that there is a Creator our Lord.

I think this quote implies that you can't be certain of anything. And, well, I agree with that.

I'm not sure the interpretation you include as additional details fits. Am I missing something??

i believe so. WHY give a possible wrong answer? just dont give one at all. Feel possitive and sure, and then nothing can go wrong. WHY doubt a relationship, doubt causes false feelings and an unsure way of thinking

No. Doubting things helps us learn. Otherwise we would just beleive whatever is spoonfed to us.
