Church is my family - it doesn't matter about the building, just the people. You don't get the people if you stay at home!

This is a question which I myself use to have, but not anymore. If the people who attend my local church are friendly and agreeable with me and other people, and the Pastor is an Ok speaker, then i am all for church.( I know I am not perfect, so I say others too)

However, if every time I go to church and it seems others don'tv care for my company, then I feel worshiping at home is ok. As long as you do Worship God, not go to some fun filled activity when you could be worshiping. You dont have to worship on any certain day of the week.

Many people choose Sunday because it seems that's when most people dont work. Nothing wrong with sunday, or Saturday, or any other day of the week.

Dont stay away from churth though just to partake in fun. That wont work. If at all possible a person should worship with others. I use to, but I dont anymore because of the church's attitude towards me and other people. This would take too long a story to tell, so I wont. I do, however, miss the Christian fellowship. Maybe some day my church will welcome others back again.

For me, going to church is important because we need the fellowship of other Christians in order to grow in our faith. Fellowshipping and coming together as a body to worship God is one of the purpose of the Christian life. (Read Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life").

You can stay at home alone and worship God but that is more like a quiet time or devotion. This is also important for the building up of your relationship with Christ.

Nowadays, with televised worship services, people tend to stay in the comfort of their homes instead of coming together to worship. While televised service is good in some ways, for those living in places where church is too far away, or those who are sick or invalid and unable to move around freely, etc. , those of us who are able should still make the effort to go to church for worship.

Both are very important. Your whole life should be in "worship" to God.

Being a part of Church is an essential for a Christian. And as some have said the Church, though, is not a building but a community of believers. When you become a Christian you become a part of the body of Christ. Otherwise known as the Church, or a community of believers. As Christians we must participate in this community for together we can proclaim the good news to the World and help each other in our walks with Christ and glorify him.

How can the foot say to the eye, I don't need you? We are a part of a body, interconnected with other Christians who have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. Together the Church makes up the temple of God. (see 1 Cor. 12:12-31)

my temple is 2 hours from home, and I have a pretty busy schedule so I don't go often. But I don't believe it is necessary to go. Some perfectly devout Hindus never go to a temple. I'm sure that this is the case for people of other religions too, although I understand that in some religions, attendance at the place of worship is a bigger necessity for the religion.

But in Hinduism, we can worship God at home, just as much as at Temple. It is normal for Hindus to have a place in their house, or even an entire room, devoted for worship of God.

I always love being at the Temple, and sometimes want to go and stay forever. But I mostly worship at home.

I love going to church but sometimes have to miss it if I'm working - and I really do miss it.
We should all worship at home or wherever we are anyway. Church gives us the fellowship that we need, especially after spending time with non-believers and those who would ridicule or be downright rude.

I would be at church if I could find one close by. Until I do, I am doing T.V. church. I believe that church is important but ashamed by the churches that have turned it into a social instead of a House of Worship.

Being in God's house is a treat in itself. Being among other like-minded believers makes it even more special. There is tremendous power invoked when you gather together with other Christians (Deut 32:30, Hebr 11).
You can worship alone at any time but when you get a chance to be with other Christians, that's very special.

if you are unable to attend church with a legitamate reason then it is fine. church is very important if you are in the roman catholic church. jesus gave us a visible church on earth with leaders,at the beginning of the church many were persecuted and martyred for this church,if church was not important i fail to see why the earliest christians had to have church in secret for fear of persecution and even death. even the bible had to be safeguarded and protected by the church-the first christains being catholic recognised the importance of church as given to them and to us through our savior jesus christ. here are some sites/books that may be of interest

a catechism of the church will help with many questions you may have, even if you are not catholic the catechism on most issues is compatible with most if not all other sects of christianity. from the bible after the gospels we see the formation of the church, from the bible and the writings of early church all lead one to conclude that the church was catholic.

worship at home is fine, worship anywhere is fine but we must not negate the importance of the church as the visible body of christ which incorporates the spiritual body of christ.

God's home is the entire Universe and not necessarily a church, but the church is His place of worship, not that you can't worship Him anywhere else that you might be.
