I've asked that of Christians before. They come up with the same nonsense. "War and murder aren't the same."

Yet, if one goes off to war to kill the enemy it's indiscriminate premeditated murder none the less. These same Christians will also be pro-death penalty, and some even kill abortion doctors. One cannot trust them, they talk of absolute morality but waffle on what constitutes murder. All religious people do that. WHY? Because religion LOVES WAR. Not only does it approve of war, it very often encourages it.

Mat 5:43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do well to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Luk 6:46 ¶ And why call ye me, Teacher, Teacher, and do not the things which I say?

Hope this answers your question brother. Christianity is not the true religion.

I Yahchanan 2:4—
He who says: I know Him, but does not keep His Law, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

I Yahchanan 3:4—
Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law.

Let no man deceive you.

I Yahchanan 3:7-8—
7 Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Yahweh was manifested; that He might destroy the works of the devil.

I Yahchanan 3:10—
In this the children of Yahweh and the children of the devil are manifest. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of Yahweh, and he does not love his neighbor!

Deuteronomy 6:25—
And it will be our righteousness, if we observe to do all of this Law before Yahweh our Father, as He has commanded us.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, [being] the firstfruits unto Yahweh and to the Lamb.

Do you think Christians will still be following Santa or the Easter bunny or following the Lamb to the Feast of The Unleavened bread where he will still be keeping as an ordinance FOREVER!

Do not believe the deceived!

Well a perhaps arbitary christian god that allows 6 million jews to die, but turns water into wine at a wedding allows war but not murder? But away from sarcasm Christians use the Just war principle when deciding whether to go to war.

Evidently, you know nothing about the Bible. God condones war in the Bible. Many wars took place in the Old Testament. There is a distinct difference between war and murder, and just because Christians have their reasons to support a war, doesn't mean we support murder.

P.S. I take offense that you are stereotyping/labeling "so many" Christians as supporting the war. If I made a similar claim about let's say gays, blacks, or any other minority, you would be all over me. Just shows the ignorance and hypocrisy of many liberals.

The way it was explained to me by a Christian was the prohibition against murder in the 10 commandments was in the old testament which Jesus invalidated. Now you can murder anyone you wish and you only have to ask Jesus to forgive you.

You have at least understood that the Commandment prohibits "murder." It does not prohibit justifiable homicide, self defense, or just war.

Killing is not prohibited, only murder. God Himself commands us to "kill" those who commit "murder" (Genesis 9:6).

While war is tragic, it is sometimes preferable to the evil dictator's schemes to slaughter certain people groups (take Hitler and Nazi Germany against the Jews for example, or Sadam and Iraq murdering innocent women and children in areas they would rather build strip malls).

We can't stand by and let it happen, anymore than we should stand and watch our mothers raped and murdered by some scumbag who would be very happy that you haven't got the guts to do anything.

You seem to make the common error for associating war and murder.

Ill let you in on a little secret about war virtually nobody is aware of. There is always either GOOD VS EVIL, or EVIL VS EVIL. War isnt simply about killing people, war is the inevitable conclusion of humanity to disagree on a number of issues. Sometimes it is just a battle for land itself. But it is typically a battle of causes.

Now Christians view something like the United States of America a good cause because it promotes freedom of religion and opportunity. And a good cause is always worth fighting for. Think of it this way, yes we are here to spread the Gospel and be servants of God first and formost. BUT, we are also citizens of this world and while we are here we have certain civic duties like paying taxes and defending our nation. If you are willing to do neither, you are at best a felon and at worst a unpatriotic freeloader who enjoys the freedoms and benefits of a free society yet rejects his civic duty to it.

Murder is the selfish taking of innocent life for no good purpose. War however for a justified soveriegn nation, is the only way to preserve it fighting tyrrany. To you like not being told by the govt who or what to worship? Do you like having freedom of speech? These things are all brought to you by past generations that have fought and sacrificed countless numbers so we today can enjoy these freedoms. Would you like your children to have this freedom?

Better question would be: If murder is against the rules of the 10 commandments, how is it that God, himself, has killed millions of people over the past 10,000 years(roughly the age of religious earth)
Sodom, Gamorah, The Flood. There are more. How can a God that tells us not to kill, do it himself?
Is it "Do as I say, not as I do?"

Honestly, I don't know. I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I can tell you that the Bible shows us that we have no business Pledging our allegiance to an object or Man (Idolatry) and proceeding to murder others who might not agree with the current President.

Actually, as a Christian I don't support war- I maintain a stand of neutrality, since Jesus taught us to "be no part of this world" and that "those who live by the sword shall die by the sword."

I think anytime one person is killed by another, irregardless of the situation or context, it is an utter waste of the precious gift of life we have been given, yet take for granted so often.
