We have a capri sun box and the mommy always put in tiny pieces strips of newspaper in her wing, then put it in the nest.

The first thing is to calm down..Mother bird knows what she's doing. Please don't touch the baby or the other eggs..let mom and dad handle it. You have an important job to see that they get the proper food a good seed blend, pelleted food, fresh veggies and fruits in small amounts { daily } hard boiled eggs mashed up. Now sit back and enjoy the miracle of life.

Just leave it alone. The mama will take care of the babies.
The mama will feed the babie and everything and yes she can sit on the baby. I assume they have a nesting box or are the eggs just laying on the bottom of the cage? If so, wait for the rest to hatch and you might want to get them a nesting box with some bedding in it. Beddng that doesnt have aromatic oils in it.

Don't do anything. The mother knows best. Since the baby is just born, then he has no feathers and can die from cold fast. The mom is just keeping him warm. Leave them alone for a little bit and go online or to the pet store and explain. They will tell you just what you need to know and do when the bay grows. Good Luck!

DO NOT MESS WITH THE CHICK(S)!

The chick will survive for the next 24-48 hours on the yolk sack. The parents will feed it and take care of it. After about two weeks you can start to handle the baby and get it used to human touch.

DO NOT TRY TO FEED IT YOURSELF!!! If fed at the wrong temprature or incorrectly you will kill the chick.
