hello there! just looking for some advice. i want to lose
10-15 lbs- i'm not overweight, but different roles in my life require me to be a certain weight, and right now i'm curvy. i think i eat very healthy (breakfast= fruit and a healthy cereal, sometimes yogurt; lunch= a small sandwich, whole wheat and white meat, tomatoes and grapes, and dinner is usually more diverse, like homemade pizza or pasta, but my portions are much less than everyone else around me). i drink lots of water. am pretty active, run every day (though not that far) and dance once a week, as well as pilates once a week. i don't understand why i am not losing this weight... so irritating! any tips or advice or anything? thank you so much ;)

you must consume less calories than you require to maintain your weight. Remember, you must burn 3500 calories more than you take in to lose one pound, so if you're not losing, you're not burning enough calories. Also, remember if you work out that you may be replacing fat with muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat because it is more dense. Go get a bodyfat calculating scale so you can see if you are losing bodyfat, then alter your diet and exercise accordingly. Add more aerobic exercise and dont eat any starchy foods. That will help...

Try changing your excercise routine. Sometimes an increase in intensity or a total change in the types of excercise you do will cause your body to totally re-adapt. For example, try incorporating some weight training (3 times a week) into your routing, this will cause your body to focus on muscle growth which will burn calories when you arent being active, even while you sleep. Mix weight training with the workouts you already do and I bet you will see real results in just a few months.

my favorite book on weight loss and excercise plan is the one by David Kirsch, The Ultimate New York Body Plan. it's a two week diet, but I don't necesarily use it as such. he has some fabulous tips on how to eat even better than you already do, teaching you why you shouldn't eat certain foods even though they may seem healthy, and he also combines that w/ an intense work out plan. i got my book on amazon for super cheap. you should check it out.
