It depends on what the aerospace engineer is trying to decide.
If he's trying to decide a moral or spiritual issue, it would seem to be a good strategy, at least in our culture and society.
If he's trying to decide a financial or technical issue, it might not be such a good strategy, in that it would not help him decide among competing answers.
