It is a materity thing. You will suddenly feel the need to have the child in your arms. Although I have to admit the raising the child is a whole different thing. Think about where you are now and what you are doing. Are you young and unmarried? Do you live alone or with parents or someone else? If you are married, is your spouse ready, men take longer than women sometimes most of the time, to want that responsiblity. How are you finacially, can you afford rent or to maintain a house, keep the utilities going, feed your baby and diaper it, formula is very expensive you know, and wick is only avialable to those that are very poor. You will use 50 diapers in a weeks time more if your child has diarrhia or something to that affect. If you are married and on your on, how big is your house, and do you have pets, and what are they like.

there are lots of things to think about. If you understand all of this and you are still in yerning then you are ready, but I would not suggest having a child if you are single, because then there is day care or a baby sitter and that will eat you alive money wise.

Mmmmm......You just know I guess. I dont know if you are ever really ready though. Something always comes to mind, like you cant afford it - which you never can, or what if your not a perfect parent - which no one is. Those are the things that always have gone through my head. I guess just when your ready to share your life and expand your family and take on the greatest responsibilty of all, trying to raise a good warmhearted human being in a not so good world.

to tell you the truth, you are never ready. you may think you are, and get pregnant, but once those 40 weeks are up, you're in for a big surprise. A wonderful surorise though. i have found that thru my four pregnancies, the more i feel ready, the less i am and thats what make parenting so enjoyable. your never ready for anything and never know what will happen next!!

It's a career choice - and it's 24/7. Talk with other parents and ask them every question you have about parenting. Then, look at what would change in your life to accommodate this new career. Finally, check to make sure you have the resources to have a child - financial, emotional, physical, etc.

When you can afford one. When you are emotionally ready to put someone else before you in all decisions that you make. Whne you are married to a person who feels the same way.
