There is no doubt in my mind that when I die I am going to heaven. There is no doubt in my mind that I love God. There is no doubt in my mind that God blesses my loving monogamous homosexual relationship. I have been to the alter numerous times and prayed over this issue and did not have "peace that passes understanding" until I accepted myself as God made me...gay.
I can quote the same scriptures in Leviticus, Romans, etc... so please don't throw those at me...I can quote other scriptures as well, that shows how vague so much of the Bible is...so, why do you condemn me and insist that I am a sinner? It may be your understanding of the scriptures...but, what does it profit you to judge me?

Goodness...If you look at the Levitical codes you will see that not only is homosexuality an abomination, but that once should not wear a cloth made of more than one fiber...women shouldn't enter the church during their menstrual period...blah, blah, blah...Romans...the apostle Paul writes about the subjective role of women...do not speak up in church..wait til you get in the privacy of your own home, etc... These are vague scriptures...should we take them literally... The sins of Soddam and Gomorrah was about inhospitality and rape...not specifically about homosexuality.
Galations 3:28...says, " there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female, in Christ we are one." If God cannot see us as male or female...he cannot see us as gay or straight.
Remember, Paul writes in II Timothy 3:16 that all scripture is given by inspiration of God....
The Bible is the "inspired" word of God...but, it was written by humans who brought their own ideas, customs and cultures.

Anyway, my basic point is this...Christianity is about faith...faith in the unknown, the unseen...faith in God. I have faith...I have God...God loves me...regardless of what scriptures you quote, you cannot steal my christianity or my God from me.

Another goodness. Everyone is quoting the scripture saying, "this is the way it is". Remember, there is only one absolute authority on scripture...and that is Jesus Christ himself. Unless you are claiming to be Jesus Christ, please do not quote the Bible with absolutes...that is blasphemy.
Peace be with all of you. Obviously, this has touched a nerve and a lot of people must be in torment over this issue. My personal feeling is that those most judgemental of me, are usually the ones most tempted by me. I will pray for you.

The Continental Singers had a song a few years ago, that said basically...sometimes it's hard for me to understand why we pull away from each other so easily...eventhough we're all walking the same road...yet we build dividing walls between our brothers and ourselves..but, I don't care what label you may wear...if you believe in Jesus you belong with me, the bond we share, is all I care to see, and we will change the world together if you will join and sing, you're my brother you're my sister, so take me by the hand, together we will work until he comes...
I would love to be next to you working with you doing what God has commanded us...feeding the hungry, helping the poor, the widows the orphan...I am tired of being political..I hope you are too...let's make a difference in the world by showing God's love.

To those quoting scripture against me...remember the Bible you are using to condemn me, is the same Bible our ancestors used to justify slavery and to "keep women in their place".
To those who ask why I would want to be a Christian. Obviously, there has to be something bigger than us in this world. I worship the God of my childhood..raised a Southern Baptist and I have my idea of what God is and looks like etc... I believe Native Americans worship their god, be it the Sun God, Moon God or whomever. It is my belief that while my God may look different and have a different name than theirs, we are all worshiping the same God. To those that believe in the big-bang theory...I believe if that is the way the world was created...then something had to create those rocks that banged together.
Finally, I have a personal relationship with Christ...I pray, I ask forgiveness, I give thanks for the blessings I have..I have for direction. I know God is with me and guiding my life.

It is simple. When Jehovah first created Man and Wife he set the president for sexual relations to be between Husband and Wife, Male and Female.

I do not judge you. The Word of God does. Homosexuality is an abomination. Believe all the lies that Satan tells you if that is what you wish to do. Homosexuality is a sin. You must turn from sin in order to be sanctified unto God. Without this separation from the sins of the world, salvation is simply not possible. I am sure that thieves, adulterers, prostitutes, and other vile people feel the same way that you do, and believe falsely that they are going to heaven.
To say that you have been to the altar and prayed about this, and that God made you gay, you are allowing Satan to speak through you.
The Word of God is not vague. You simply do not have true understanding of His Word, just as you do not truly have salvation. God does not bless your homosexual relationship. You will find this out very soon. You have simply been turned over to a reprobate mind.
Repent, renounce Satan, which is now your father, and turn to God for salvation through Christ.

Hi James,
It is not a matter of what I or anyone else thinks, it is what God's Word says. It is pretty clear to me that if I choose a lifestyle that doesn't line up with His Word then I have chosen to be separated from Him for eternity. It is my choice.
1 Corinthians 6:9 includes me, I am in that list. Then in 6:10 it says such were some of you; but you were washed you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
There may not be any doubt in your mind, however only God knows the heart of man, and His Word is very clear on this subject.
When you know His Word and what He says will separate us from His Kingdom, there is no way to change what the Word says.
I am not condemning you, I am concerned, this is a grave issue. I feel the same way about my loved ones who think that by being a "good person" they are going to heaven.
Sincerely- Redeemed (from the miry clay by the blood of the lamb)

I am a Christ follower myself. I will provide you the sincere reply. And it's the fact. The Lord has made us for the opposite intercourse. If you're christian, you may have heard of Adam and Eve. Remember - God made it that manner, considering that for one its the proper manner - it is his manner. He did not make it Adam and Evan. Of path, any one inclined in the world can serve God! He won't refuse any one! But you ought to appear on the colossal image right here ok. Of path God wishes us to have a dedicated and significant courting with him, however there is best that a technique, and it is not our manner - however his manner. We are not able to difference it up. You see what I imply? For us to have a committed courting with the Lord Christ, we need to comply with what he says and what he wishes for us. And he states all of it within the guide of lifestyles - The Holy Bible. God will continually love an individual, it doesn't matter what despite the fact that. Honestly, in case your happening this mistaken direction, pray. God intends for a person & a ladies to mate. Then they have got infants. Then all over the place once more. That's the lifestyles he made for us. This is not anything devout and has not anything to do with being any particular manner. My recommendation is, while you comply with the Lord, comply with him the entire manner via!

The problem for you is that you are living in sin and conceptualizing God instead of letting him reveal himself. And nobody is judging you, God is going to judge you and all of us. We're just reminding you of the court date.
There is a difference between purely Jewish law and universal law in the OT. Some of the laws were destined to be characteristic of Jews only and some are universal. (True for all people all time) It doesnt exactly take a Bible scholar to see the differences. Of what we read in the NT, ALL sexual sin is STILL forbidden. That is stated so many times in the NT I fail to see how there is still any debate today over it. Actually I do see, because a number of people are trying to justify their unGodly lifestyles by knowlingly confusing and clouding the Scriptures.
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. -1 Corinthians 6:10
If you claim to be a Christian then you mustve read the Bible. And the Bible categorically condemns the act of homosexuality as it does incest and beastiality. If you feel that you cannot live withint the confines of a natural hetero marriage, then you need to stay single and dont ever have relations with the same sex. One cannot expect to enter Heaven and not listen to what God has said.
If it makes you feel any better, I have a really bad temper and lust, and I have to be content with not killing people that make me mad or sleeping with lots of girls! We all have our challenges in life and you have available to you from God what it takes to persevere.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. -James 1:12

Of course you are a Christian. Jesus said "WHOSOEVER believes on me will be saved."
The sins in the bible that have been assumed were about homosexuality were actually talking about the act of raping a fallen foe, or gang rape - similar to what occurs in prisons today among heterosexuals. The bible is talking about using sex to attack and humiliate another person. This is not what homosexuality is. You are right, the Greek is very vague and there is not a real clear idea of what exactly was meant by the author of these texts.
Hold tight to your faith.
Here is a great website for you to look through.

you talk about love and lust like they were one. Only Jesus can judge us "The words that I have spoken the same shall judge you in the last day." John 12:48
my best friend chose to be homosexual-not gay-gay means very happy-he was abused as a child molested. and for 3 years we shared scriptures finally he turned totally to Jesus-and was reborn as Jesus says "Repent and be born again" John 3
Romans 1 says Homosexuality comes from being unthankfull and worshipping the created rather than the creator.
1 Corinthians 6:9-13 and homosexual and such WERE some of you but you have been cleansed in the blood of Jesus
Jesus set me free-I lived in sin and 'believed' in him. but I was not as bold as you to say Jesus loved my sin-he hates sin but he loves us unconditionally.
I prayed, Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen.
He said he would in Revelation 3:19&20 knocking on our heart do come in declaring his true love for us to repent and be made new from within and he becoming our true friend.
praying for you in Jesus amazing grace that saved a wretch like me. set free, David

What does it matter what I or anybody else thinks? When you are standing before the judgement seat of God, neither the people who agreed with you in this life nor the people who condemned you in this life will be there... it will be just you and Jesus.
And actually - the sin of Sodom wasn't inhospitality or rape, it was pride, self-indulgence, and laziness:
“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.” (Eze.16:49-50, KJV)
Also in 2 Timothy 3:16 - the word translated "inspired" means "God-breathed" - the image is that God breathed the words right on to the page.

I'm a Christian and I don't have anything against gay people. I don't believe being gay is a choice, nor do I condemn it. I support gay rights and I think God created gay people as he created straight people. I think you're a Christian so don't lump us all together. I detest these supposed Christians with their "holier than thou" attitudes. They're the ones who give Christianity a bad name. Be happy with your own life and try not to hurt others. That is how I think we should all live.

I agree with Sun and some of the others here: If you've found your faith that works for you, great, and keep with it. It doesn't matter what you do with your sex life. You are not mistreating others. You are having sex with a consenting adult. It's your business, not theirs. In the long run, you owe it to yourself to pursue both a spiritually and sexually fulfilled life, whatever form that might take. Live a good life, do good by others, and be an example for your religious beliefs. That's all that's asked of anyone in this world.
