I used to have hair halfway down my back when I was younger, and listening to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. What a pain in the azz that was!
Believe it or not....the best way to make your hair grow longer is to get it trimmed from time to time.
That keeps the split ends in check. When your hair splits it gets brittle and easier to break. After a certain length your hair won't get any longer. It'll still grow, but it'll break off before it gets a chance to become the wild, wooly mane you're looking for.
Everyone's hair grows at different rates,so you might need to experiment with the amount of time that you let pass between trims.I wouldn't reccomend going any more than once a month,or any less than three months.
By the way....hair extensions? Oh please no! You're a dude for Crissakes!
Also....don't forget to wash, condition, and comb regularly!

i have curly hair also and doesn't look right to me in a pony tail. Some guys grow hair better than others. it takes me about 4 months to grow my hair long enough for a ponytail... they also have hair vitamins that might help you...

Hair grows about a half an inch a month. Right now, you could use bobbypins to tie back the flyaways with hairspray as well.

Good luck!

Try getting hair extensions until your own hair grows out. The extensions will also help straighten your ponytail out as it grows.
