I have played cards online from time-to-time and I kind of miss chatting with people that way.

Sadly most of the online sites now are all about rating, and besides understandably "normal" people get annoyed when you have to get up for a few minutes or quit a game altogether.

I was playing gin with another parent the other day and it was a lot of fun because I didn't have to worry if I had to step away for a minute to pay attention to my son or to puke *lol* (pregnant)

What do you think would you want to play online games in a more layed back site where there were no ratings and it wasn't a big deal if you had to take a minute or leave a game?

I am thinking of suggesting it to Yahoo and I just want them to see if there would be an interest.

I think that a lot of the world does not understand how time consuming it is to be a parent. I wish there were more ways to communicate with other parents in a "laid back site". I would DEFINETLY sign up for a site like that. Socializing as a working parent is not something I get to be involved with much because of the time constraints and the lack of understanding from "non-parental" people.

I would--I love games of all kinds--from Dominoes to ps2--and a lot of the reason I don't play online is bc I have 2 kids, 5 and 1. I bought God of War 2 when it came out and I'm not even half way through yet, which is not normal for me. (usually I would hae beat it 3 times over by now) I play dominoes and pool with my friend on yahoo messenger sometimes, but I'm always wanting more when she's ready to go to bed! I stay up late (always have) and it's more relaxing to play when the kids are in bed, but most of my friends work or go to college, so I'm left an Answers all by myself...:o) I would for sure want to be a part of your idea, so keep me posted! (you can email r im me anytime) Good luck!

I think it's a great idea! Although you can play unrated games in Yahoo, people still get ticked off about you taking too long on your turns when you have children to tend to (like if they were sleeping and they wake up -- I'm not suggesting you are ignoring your children to play games, of course!) They should at least have rooms for different game paces, like turbo speed rooms for people who want fast games and maybe one specifically for parents, with the understanding that games can get cancelled or slowed down at any time. After all, who understands better than another parent that your children are more important than any card game??
