I have a skunk in my bushes we have noticed him or her for two days now it is alive but not moving i dont want to hurt him but the police say they cant do anything unless he was rabid. Do I feed him because I think he may be sick or hurt. or leave him hope he doesn't die and hope he leaves?

Call animal control (county or city service usually), not the police. Any skunks should be removed from where they could potentially bite a pet or person. If animal control is not available, call a pest removal service. Do not allow this animal to stay near your home. I do not want to sound mean, but this is not a good thing. It could also spray your house and make it stink for a long, long time.

As far as feeding it..I would but that is just me. I am a softy for any kind of animal. if you are going to feed the skunk until you can get someone out there to get him PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE SKUNK CAT OR DOG FOOD! While yes..wild skunks or opossums will eat the cat or dog food it is very unhealthy for them. If you notice..while skunks that eat off someones porch normally have unhealthy looking hair and are a bit..well..gripey. The main cause of this is the fact that they arn't getting the foods they need. Cat and dog food can actually be poisonous to a skunk. The best things to give them are fresh fruits and vegtables, chicken, fish, yogurt, cereal or whole grain breads, also a little bit of virgin olive oil in with the food is great for the fur. Basically..they eat healthy foods that you and I would eat. I had a pet opossum (got him as a wild baby..the mom died and had him till he passed away of old age) and I basically had to buy a whole grocery list for the little guy.
If you call someone to come get him please check local listings for a wild life rescue or sanctuary before calling anyone else. They are best suited to actually take care of the animal rather than putting him down.

poor thing. I once found a sick raccoon in my yard. I put an old towel over him and put a bowl of water and some cat food next to his head. Try that with the skunk. You can't do much more for him though.

Call animal control. Even if a skunk is not exhibiting signs of rabies, most of them are carriers and can transmit it if they bite you or a pet.
