Why because its not our job to JUDGE its GOD's (JESUS or JEHOVAH depending) duty to handle the problem im against it. but then again some that keeps killing people and wont stop what can you do. seal them in a room for life...

I don't see how you can relate the 2 subjects together. You are speaking of abortion, which is the end of life for a truly Innocent being and comparing it to the death penalty, which is the end of life to a guilty person, guilty of horrendous crimes. I used to be against the death penalty, because I didn't feel that man had the right to end the life of another man. But, I've changed my views. I believe that if you are guilty of such a crime, you don't deserve to have the life God gave you. But, I still don't agree with the death penalty as it is carried out in the US. I think that there should be a standard. Why is it that some people are sentenced to death, while other convicted of worse crimes are sentenced to life behind bars. And as a christian, I don't like you implying that others don't have convictions. Others may not have faith, but a non-christian can be equally moral. I think that statements like that make us look bad and turn others off to Christianity. Christianity is about loving others, not making them feel second class.

The biggest difference between abortion and the death penalty is just that. Death is a penalty for heinous crimes committed against society and other people. The child in question has no crimes, has never had the opportunity to love, hate, or experience emotion of any kind. I'm passionate about anti-abortion. There is only one instance when i could consider condoning it. And that is when the lives of both mother and child are at risk in the continuation of this pregnancy. Granted, I believe I have no place to tell someone else what to do with their body, but I think that people need to remember that it is a completely innocent human life. I do not believe that the death penalty even qualifies remotely in the same category as abortion for the reasons I've listed above.

Isn't Abortion a Death Penalty? Should people that abort their children then be convicted of murder? I know one person that was charged with murder and he was Scott Peterson and he got the death penalty. He was charged for his wifes and his unborn babies death. Now if a person can be charged with a forced abortion then shouldn't a abortion by choice get the same result? AS a Christian I believe in forgiveness, but God gave us the freewill to make laws and if the Death penalty is there to convict the guilty of terrible acts on mankind then I agree with the death penalty. Innocent babies shouldn't be charged with that crime. Think about when Adam sinned and he broke the rules all mankind got the death penalty from God; it's just at different times for everybody.

Both have something to due with death. When u talk about the death penalty is when a criminal has commited a hideous crime. When u talk about Abortion is when the life of an innocent child is taken with no reason at all to end it. Other than ur own. The death penalty is for those who have taken life, raped or other serious crimes. Life begins since the moment it is conceived. Both subjects are very different. Do not get them confused.

I am a Christian, and I know I would never have an abortion, but there are some other circumstances where maybe if there was a terrible disease that is just impossible for the quality of life, then maybe the pregnancy should be terminated out of love, and then, who are we to decide who lives and dies, but we do have that power and we do decide, so I have to say that under those circumstances, I do believe it is the mother's choice. As far as stem cell research, don't they use (I could be wrong I don't know enough about the subject) but they use the fertilized embryos that are discarded after they implant some in a mother for fertility treatments. the unwanted ones are just kind of bubbles of cells at this point, but they are either frozen or thrown away, so maybe they could use these as a research method into diseases for people who are alive and conscious.
The death penalty is tricky, even for athiests. The thought of man doing God's job is unsettling for Christians, but we seem to be the biggest advocates for it, and athiests think its inhumane and barbaric, but most of us deep down know that there are people that just shouldn't be alive, and just as a natural order of things we should get rid of them. Its the law of the land I guess, and its not just us, we find patterns of this in nature, and as exile is no longer an option, and keeping someone locked up doesnt seem to work really either, death is the "cure" for this problem simply of what to do with someone who is such a danger to people that they cant ever live among us. Child molesters, even people who attempt molestation should be killed or at least locked up forever, murderers and violently mentally ill people who will kill others, repeat offenders, rapists, violent criminals who we know its only a matter of time before they kill, you know the kind, they are murderers who just havent killed yet, these are the types that somehow get released back into society all the time, and some would argue that its the prison system that needs to be fixed the answer is not to kill them, but like I say, deep down, we all know what must be done. Most cultures don't think of death the way we do, meaning its just not the worst thing you can do, but I am happy to live in a society that has such a high regard for life, the trade off is diffucult, but no laws in a society so diverse as ours is going to be perfect.
But what do I know Im just an uneducated mother of 2?

Thats a good question, and this is MY opinion.
No, I do not believe the death penalty is wrong. The death penalty is a punishment for people that did something wrong and were convicted. Abortion is killing a child who is innocent and has done nothing.

I think that many people (on both sides of the abortion question) support the death penalty because of concerns that killers will be released into their communities and because they do not yet know about the alternatives. Here are a few verifiable and sourced facts about the death penalty system in the United States. I believe it is extremely important for people to know these things before making up their minds.
Re: Deterrence
The death penalty isn’t a deterrent. Murder rates are actually higher in states with the death penalty than in states without it. Moreover, people who kill or commit other serious crimes do not think about the consequences or even that they will be caught (if they think at all.)
Re: cost
The death penalty costs far more than life in prison. The huge extra costs start to mount up even before the trial. There are more cost effective ways to prevent and control crime.
Re: Alternatives
48 states have life without parole on the books. It means what it says, is swift and sure and is rarely appealed. Being locked in a tiny cell for 23 hours a day, forever, is certainly no picnic. Life without parole incapacitates a killer (keeps him from re-offending) and costs considerably less than the death penalty.
Re: Possibility of executing an innocent person
Over 120 people on death rows have been released with evidence of their innocence, many having already served over 2 decades on death row. If we speed up the process we are bound to execute an innocent person. Once someone is executed the case is closed. If we execute an innocent person the real criminal is still out there and will have successfully avoided being charged.
Re: DNA
DNA is available in less than 10% of murder cases. It’s not a miracle cure for sentencing innocent people to death. It’s human nature to make mistakes.
Re: Who gets the death penalty
The death penalty isn’t reserved for the “worst of the worst,” but rather for defendants with the worst lawyers. When is the last time a wealthy person was sentenced to death, let alone executed??
Re: Victims families
The death penalty is very hard on victims’ families. They must relive their ordeal in the courts and the media. Life without parole is sure, swift and rarely appealed. Some victims families who support the death penalty in principal prefer life without parole because of how the death penalty affects families like theirs.
Opposing the death penalty doesn’t mean you condone brutal crimes or excuse people who commit them. According to a Gallup Poll, in 2006, 47% of all Americans prefer capital punishment while 48% prefer life without parole. Americans are learning the facts and making up their minds using common sense, not revenge.

I am pro choice and believe it is the woman's descision, not the descision of bible thumpers. I am christian but believe in people rights and no one should make them feel guilty. Besides, look at all the crack babies, homeless babies and all the children in foster care? It seems that it's the uneducated and poor who keep overpopulating. However, I do believe that abortion should only be done within the first trimester.
Furthermore, I am always curious why people are so against abortion, yet think it's ok to kill the people performing the abortions. I say choose the best for you and leave others alone and don't make them feel llke crap because of their beliefs.

I'm against abortion. I believe in God but don't practice religion. I also believe in the death penalty in some cases. I don't believe in abortion because the baby has done no wrong except being at the wrong place at the wrong time; litterally. Now, if one of my loved ones were to become murdered, God forbid, I'd want justice. Other than that, it doesn't bother me.

You know it is not our place to decide when it is someone's time to die. It is God's decision, yes I could wish some pretty ill things on a murderer. But does it make us any better to murder them? What if that person was falsely accused and theyre given the death penality, can anyone fix that? And as for abortion, I dont believe in that because there are families out here who want children and cant have them. A baby can be taken to a hospital or church and someone else can have the chance to love a baby. GIVE LIFE! Even if you kill a bad guy, remember you still killed and therefore you are a murderer and a sinner too. Let God do his job, he knows what he is doing, trust him.
