I use it as my form of sweetener since I've heard that NutraSweet could be linked to cancer, and I don't use regular sugar because I can't taste it and don't like the fact that it has a high amount of calories per serving. Does anyone know?

I think it's VERY bad for you. A friend of mine is diabetic, and just found out she has cancer of the lymphnodes, and she heard of a study that links aspartame to cancer, and she's been consuming it her whole life.
Splenda is kind of the same thing...dangerous...you could try going to a natural foods store and getting some sugarcane. It's much better for you and not refined so it doesn't have as many calories. I heard it has a different taste than refined sugar, so you might like it.
I try to keep anything un natural out of my system, remember that even though they may claim it comes from natural sources, the FDA (in America anyways) is allowed to use a huge list of chemicals without putting them in the ingredients list because the amount of it is so small it's "supposed" to be harmless.

No, there was an experiment that was done a while back that classified it as a carcinogen, but it was later discredited.

I don't think it's been around long enough to find out.
