my dear, i don't think that anything else will take your breath away quite like the top of the rockefeller tower did for me. i don't know if it was just how big it was, but if you get a chance, go there at night time. its only 15 dollars and you can go through a little historical thing aswell...but the lights are indescribable. also consider visiting ground zero. someday, it wont be there anymore and new towers will occupy it. there aren't many more powerful things in that giant city as ground zero is. try even watching "The World Trade Center" movie before you go if you haven't already seen it.

there is so much to see. you could spend a whole day just around central park, another at the museums there in the same area. if you are taking taxis, then you wont get lost and wont have a problem. if you are taking public trans. i suggest downloading a metro map because i have heard of tourists getting on the train they thought was headed to WTC and it went to brooklyn instead. one thing to remember is to leave A LOT of time for the big things, like empire state building, statue of liberty etc. if you are going on a nice, sunny day....be prepared to sit for a while and have some water. there will be busses and busses of kids and families in line and it can take a few hrs if it is a real nice day.
