I'm not going to go into irrelevant details here. I'm new to the whole "healty lifestyle" thing. What exercises should I be doing regularly? Do certain excercises help burn fat moreso than others? Any advice is welcome.

Cardiovascular exercises burn fat. Do them for at least 30 minutes, 4 days a week (MINIMUM) and make sure you sweat. These exercises include:

Running
Swimming
Walking
Biking or Spin classes
Step aerobics

Lift weights. Weights will increase your body density, which will increase your metabolism. Since you are new, work with a trainer until you know what you are doing (goal, form, technique, etc.).

Drink a LOT of water! At least 10 glasses a day. Make water your primary drink. Keep a bottle in the car, by your computer, on your night stand, etc. Water is very important in fitness. It will be an adjustment at first (you will be peeing a lot), but then your body will crave it.

Eat right. Your body needs proper fuel. Fruits and vegetables will supply the majority of your nutrients. If you cook, check http://www.CookingLight.com for great recipes.

Have fun! Do things that you enjoy! Exercise with friends or a pet (when I do push ups at home, my kitten sits on my back). The first few weeks will seem torturous, so do fun activities until exercise becomes a necessary habit.

Sexy Trojan told you a lot of good things.

You will want to do stretching exercises first: That will save you a lot of pain, especially when you're just starting to tone your muscles up. One fairly easy one is to put your foot up on the seat of a chair, then lean forward. But don't overdo it at first.

After that, walk. It's easy and can be worked into just about any daily routine.

Don't forget the water. You might even want to get sports drinks like Gatorade for the electrolytes.

Once you get used to the activity, add a jump rope. It's not just for little girls, after all: A lot of top boxers use it as part of their training routine.

And yes, get a couple of weights. Don't try for those huge 200 pound monsters with the bench at first: A couple of 10 pound weights will be fine for strength training in your arms, chest, and hands.

Good luck, Jared!

Bench up to you'll be able to for six to eight reps. In different phrases, lead them to rough reps. Unable to preserve any extra. Benching may not construct your biceps even though. You want rowing, triceps presses and curls.
