why would they use an air cast for a broken leg?

i had seen the plaster cast for broken legs how can i get a air cast if i broke mine

First off it would have to be suitable for you. second you ask for one . they have casts made of fiberglass they are popular as you can shower with one on .
air cast and or braces are often used when there is a reason the site would have to be treated further say post operation to repair damage then the person needs to have cream put on the site things like that . i know as i had one for one entire year . my foot did not touch the ground for one year and nurses came 3 times a day to tend to the infection i got during the operation to repair a fracture.

it reelie depends on the severity of the fracture and the type of fracture. urs must be a less serious fraacture to get an air cast. the plaster is for more serious adn longer healing time fractures. hope u feel better soon!!

Mostly the air cast is to keep the leg in place and keep you aware that your leg is broken. It is not to help you get around so don't be going too much hobbling around and try to keep the foot elevated.
