I have had a breast reduction but not through NHS.

You are off work about two weeks, more if you are in a physical active job. It takes about a few months for you to finally have your incisions close so you can start working back up to normal activities.

PATIENCE is the key word in BR recovery. Scars take up to a year for them to fade and are hardly noticeable (you've got to take care of them and use creams and massage and they'll be fine). Final size also takes up to a year to get to. Some women on a board I frequent find they go down a cup size after a year after their surgery.

This site is a wealth of information for you for before and after breast reduction surgery, it is totally worth it.
