I previously had contacts, but never glasses. The glasses seem a bit stronger than the contacts and make me a little dizzy. I JUST got them however, and I was wondering if they didn't some getting used to. Is all this normal? (is if my contacts didn't make me dizzy)

When you buy new glasses the tech has to mold them to your face so you don't get that dizzy feeling.

They mold the legs to the side of your face (this way there is less open space) and they mold the nose bridge so the frame is as close to your eyes as possible. This takes them 15 minutes while you stand there. Molding is done by hand (if metal frame), sometimes with hot water if the frame is plastic.

Every time I get glasses I go through the same thing. If you are unsure call the eye doctor that you went too and ask them. It is strange that contacts don't bother you but glasses do. But I have the same problem so don't worry too much. It is always good to ask the doctor though if it is becoming a major problem for you. Hope this helps.
