I believe its only when my cat seeks attention, but ever since it was a kitten, my cat quivers her tail rapidly, as she runs to see me! I've seen a little of this in a few other cats, but beleive me, you've never seen nothing like this! From the base to the tip, she will constantlly quivers it rapidly, and constantly make a rolling churping noise, simular to a racoon. This noise I've also seen a few cats do a little, but nothing close to the amount, or extent, that my little Hilly does! She loves cheese, (grated) sleeping, or just kicking back in a small basket, about half her size, and constantly aggravates, and torments any other cats she comes in contact with, no matter what size they are, and whether their awake, or asleep! In my life I've seen and studied thousands of kittens, and cats, and owned a great deal, but I honestly believe this one quite possibly deserves a rubber room in the local mental institution, or maybe just a CAT-SCAN!!!

This cat, when the tail quivers, is just darn excited to see you. My youngest does the tail thing usually when 'tracking' something like a bug. It is humorous to me, but not an indication of illness... I think your cat does not see herself as a cat, so she harasses other animals since she is not like them in her own head.

My oldest makes that raccoon sound, too, when she is very happy. It also amuses me that she can be so expressive.

LOL, anyway. My cats do the same thing except my male cats spray when they do that. I think it is a form of happiness. My new kitty that was feral has just recently started to do the quivering of the tail. It's so adorable.

Ahhhh...my Fozzyboo does this whenever he is happy! We get such a kick out of it because his tail is quivering and then he starts prancing. He's just a happy boy. He also does not meow..he chirps or cooes, esepecially when the birds are outside singing. He loves cheese too, but is also very fond of my brother's Eggo waffels. My boy who does this is most likely crazy, but I love his personality. He loves to play with feathers and is really just funny. Uour cat is fine, otherwise mine is completely insane. :-)

maybe you really should ask your family pet doctor and see what is the real problem. I have two cats and only one of them has the tail quivers but it is because he is a male and tries to mark his territory. but for girl cats I have never heard of that one.

My female cat does that as well! Her tail quivers and she makes the chirping noise as well. It is strange, but cute!

I remember that the great Jerry Lewis had a retarded cat named Clovis who also had a quivering pusssy, unfortunately I am not sure what happened to his cat, sorry.

It's usually causes by a twitch in the lower back.

or it could be also that your cat may get to excited to see you and might have to go tinkle.

I don't think it is a serous problem, but if you think it may be, then you should have her checked.

My cat does the same. It's all about affection, nothing wrong with it.
