Hey Jesse,
Smoothies are meals. They have the carbohydrates, fat and protein. Make sure you use a variety of fruits to maximize your nutrients, and, if needed, a protein powder.

If you add protein powder they will provide a bit of bulk and fend off hunger. Pure fruit smoothies don't really fill you up.
They make great meal replacements and are healthier than pre-packaged liquid shakes that are full of corn syrup.
Ironically table sugar is better for you than corn syrup that the diet industry adulterates our food with.

well i guess, but you still need your daily intake of protine, dairy, fiber, etc. and also if you really want to lose weight i suggest doing a good workout routine. start off easy, and for the first couple of weeks, eat the foods you normally would eat, just stay away from fatty foods like potato chips, cookies, burgers, etc. if you want to do weight training work out every fiew days. you could do aerobic exercizes for atleast a half an hour every other day.

I do that often. I think it's a good replacement, except sometimes they aren't as filling. But if you're using real fruit (maybe put in some veggies too--you won't taste them), it will be really good for you.
